Star Wars Identities at the O2, London

Hello there,

I have been waiting for what seems like the longest time to visit the Star Wars Identities exhibition at the O2 in London. With myself and my partner both loving sci-fi - we decided this was a perfect double birthday treat for us.

The exhibition has been running since last year, but we decided to wait for the initial rush to die down (which was hard for an impatient person!). Finally we picked a Thursday afternoon and the timing was perfect. At times it felt like we had the place to ourselves (a good idea if busy crowds aren't your thing).

Of course, the Primark Star Wars trainers had to come out for the day!

There were plenty of familiar characters to spot,

We loved the whole day, there were props and costumes from the movies plus story boards and art work as well.

The exhibition has a continuous theme of what shapes our identity and behaviour. We each had an interactive wristband and answered questions as we went. I think if you're with someone who isn't a massive Star Wars fan it's a good way to keep the less sci-fi inclined visitors still entertained.

At the end, I tapped my wristband after answering all the questions and found I was destined to be a short pink ewok. Could have been worse I guess!

The exhibition runs until September 2017, so there's still time to visit - I'm very tempted!!

A trip to Godshill Model Village, Isle of Wight

Hello there,

I recently went over to the Isle of Wight for a couple of days. Now I live in Southampton so you could say the island is on our doorstop - and really, it is!

To take the car on the ferry from Southampton only takes an hour and it feel likes like you're transported back in time. This was a favourite place for day trips and holidays as a child so I love to go back whenever possible.

Now despite best laid plans and all that - our trip was cut short by car problems, but even so, in the short time we were there we still managed to visit Godshill, a beautiful village which always looks like something from a postcard.

A childhood favourite is Godshill Model Village. I hadn't visited this for years so was interested to see what I remembered and if it was as good as I remembered!

Now where else can you see dinosaurs taking a ride on a train?

Look closely, that's Father Christmas on top of there....

Was it as good as when I was child? I really think it was. I was surprised at how much I remembered like the music coming from the model churches and the model of the model of the model... And it's obvious how much care and attention the owners give to the village, the scenes were immaculate and every little detail had been thought of.

Can I go back please?
