OOTD - & a Simply Be logo t-shirt kind of day

Hello there,

Another OOTD for you. This was a lovely sunny day and I was wearing my favourite type of outfit - t-shirt and jeans. So we went a bit mad and took loads of piccies.

It was the first time this year the weather had been good enough to venture out onto the side garden and despite the grass being ankle height, it made a lovely change to have a different place to take blog photos (btw - the grass is knee height now - I'm losing the neighbours cats in it...send help...).

T-shirt - Simply Be, size 22 (last year)
Cardigan - Asda, size 18
Jeans - Marks and Spencer, size 22
Shoes - Primark (last year)

I've been in love with this bag from Dorothy Perkins lately. It's a like a little tardis and the amount you fit in is amazing. I'll probably swap it over soon for a more summery colour, but in the meantime, it's a firm favourite.

And to top of the whole look - a pair of robot earrings from Claire's Accessories - obviously.

Hope you liked this look and thanks for reading

End of Outfit August - at the top of Portsdown Hill

Hi everyone,

Confession time - life overtook me during the last few weeks so I fell off the Outfit August project (sorry!). But in between the horrendous weather and all other things, I squeezed in one last post before September starts and Autumn hits (anyone else excited at the thought of Halloween this year?).

Near to where I live is Portsdown Hill. It's famous locally for the views, for bikers, for being an MOD base and for being a dodgy area at night (I won't elaborate on that...). Another thing it's famous for is the burger van at the top of the hill. So on a rare sunny day and needing a some fresh air, we drove to the top to have a well needed burger.

I called this my budget outfit, the skirt was from Marks and Spencer sale (£7) and the top is from Primark (£4) (notice hands in pockets - I do love my pockets).

Thanks for reading and hope you enjoyed Outfit August. These are the other lovely ladies who took part this month:

Black and coral heart - OOTD

Hello there,

I finally managed a couple of OOTD posts this last week, which doesn't sound that unusual but as I work from home, most outfits are jeans and t-shirt (and no-one wants to see a week of that - do you??).

There's also a black theme here - which is ironic as I always thought I was someone who didn't own much black. But it's snuck in there and I rather like it. The coral heart on this t-shirt is made of sequins which helps to make it that little bit better than your normal casual t-shirt.

I'm also in love with these sandals at the moment. After my ankle op, I'm still needing comfy flats so these are perfect. They remind me of Birkenstocks - but a lot cheaper.

T-shirt - George @ Asda (old) size 20
Cardigan - George @ Asda (old) size 22
Boyfriend jeans - Marks & Spencer size 20

Shoes - Marks & Spencer (old)

I have my hands in my pockets in every photo - guess I just don't know what to do with them! Must work on better poses. I'm also experimenting with finding new places to take blog pictures. This is in my front garden (which amused the neighbours greatly) but seems to work.

Where's your favourite place to take blog photos?

Torchwood convention and a Nicky Rockets t-shirt

Hello there,

I've had tickets for a Torchwood convention in my hot little hands for some time now - but no clear idea of what to wear. That is until I saw the Curvy Time Traveller t-shirt from Nicky Rockets.

This had to be the perfect t-shirt to wear to a Torchwood convention for any Dr Who loving fan.

As you can see - I had a great time wearing it and it certainly got a bit of attention!

Primark haul - February

Hi everyone,

Although it's probably only been a couple of weeks since I went to Primark, another visit was well overdue. These are some of the goodies I picked up this weekend.

A good basic t-shirt for £4 - great for layering up with cardigans in spring or under jumpers.

I fell in love with this t-shirt. It's not a phrase I've heard of before but it's so true (plus it has glitter!)

I've been wanting a pair of high top trainers for a while. These were £10 and floral. They're well padded and even if they only last a season, I reckon they're a good buy for spring. Keep an eye out for these in future posts!

Halloween and smurfs

Hi everyone,

Well, I don't really know where October went! All my plans for lots of blog posts just evaporated into thin air. Ah well, hopefully I'll catch-up with myself one day :-)

In the meantime, it's not Halloween without a bit of a themed outfit, so here was mine for today. And anything I can combine with smurfs just makes it a real winner.

The t-shirt is from Asda. It was £7 and I'm sure if there's any left after Halloween it may be reduced even further. They only went up to a size 18 but I was determined and squeezed myself in!!

Hope you're all having a good Halloween evening / weekend xx

Outfit August day 10 and being a bit silly!

Hi everyone

Day 10 already! I'm not sure I can say a lot about this photo, but this is the sort of thing that happens when you spend all day working. I work from home and love it, but sometimes, this is just how I look at the end of the day.
(no - I have no idea what I'm doing with my hair......)

The t-shirt is from Next. I find the tops from Next are generally pretty good (this was a size 22) but their skirts and trousers are a bit hit and miss in the sizing for me.

Outfit August day 9 & My Little Pony!

Hi everyone

Sometimes I have days when I remember why blogging is fun and good for me. I've had this t-shirt for ages but I only tend to wear it around the house. I think I used to be worreid about it being too young, too bright, too anything. Silly really.

Well, today, it had an outing out to breakfast with friends and all around the shops! Had I been a bit more organised I would have remembered to take the picture with me actually wearing it! But here's the next best thing.

Primark (old) - size 20
You may notice I keep a lot of my jewellery on a cork notice board. I'm planning to do a blog post on that later in the year. I love to keep jewellery out so that I can see it all the time (even if it is a dust collector!)

Outfit August day 6

Hi everyone

I can't believe we're on day 6 already! And unfortunately days 4 and 5 have gone awol - they may not be the last! Anyway, today was a bit of a relaxing day after a couple of hectic days so relaxed clothing was called for.

Skirt - Indigo @ Marks & Spencer (old) - size 22
Top - Primark (old) - size 20

I'm wearing my current favourite skirt again - my blue denim one from Indigo @ Marks & Spencer. The top and the sunglasses are from Primark and the shoes are from Next.

This type of outfit is my go to outfit when I don't have time to think and was perfect for meeting friends for a pub lunch!

Outfit August

Hi everyone,

The lovely Leah from Just Me Leah came up with a challenge for August encouraging us all to re-use what we already have in our wardrobes.
Well, as I still have clothes in my wardrobe going back 10+ years (seriously!) I didn't need asking twice. I probably won't be able to do it every day but it will be fun to have a look and see what's lurking in the depths.
So here's me today. I'm testing a new phone so brace yourself for wonky shots all throughout August. I have my old faithful skirt from Indigo at Marks & Spencer and basic t-shirt from TU at Sainsburys. I love the t-shirt as it has glitter thread so perfect for sunny days but I had to size up as it was pretty snug on the tummy! The necklaces are part of a set I got for Christmas.
But...the more observant amongst you will notice two different tops. That's a result of spilling a glass of strawberry milk over you inbetween photos - d'oh!

Skirt - Indigo @ Marks & Spencer, old (size 22)
T-shirt white - TU @ Sainsburys, current (size 22)
T-shirt blue - Marks & Spencer, old (size 20)
These are the other lovely folk taking part so have a peek and see what they're up to:

Footie OOTD - love it or loath it?

Hi everyone,

Well, it's here. Whether you like it or not, the next few weeks will be full of news of men chasing a small ball and nations crying over broken dreams.

But...at the moment - all is good here. England haven't yet played (at the time of writing) so technically, we haven't been beaten yet....

And yep, I'm afraid I love the whole event. I like football anyway. I know enough about it to follow the various leagues and know what's happening and I can even understand the off-side rule. But then I like most sports and bloke orientated activities. I guess that maybe stems from the fact that a lot of my friends and work colleagues over the years have been men.

So in the spirit of the whole event...here's my outfit for today. And some of you may notice another theme in these pictures...Smurfs!

These t-shirts are from George at Asda and are from the mens dept. The XL fits me fine and I'm normally a 20/22. I always find I have to size up a bit in mens t-shirts to get them round my hips and butt.

But how fab are they? They makes me smile and combines 2 things I love - Smurfs and sport.

If you don't like the World Cup then I hope you get to do some fun things for you and can ignore the rest of us whittering on!
